Black American culture influences the entire world. When we speak for justice we include everyone globally yellow, red, brown and black. Nothing infuriates more than when people associate us as being selfish. No other group of people have been crucified as we have. We’ve been robbed of our culture, enslaved, raped, lynched, segregated against and systematically discriminated against in every aspect of our lives; housing, employment, education, how we wear our hair, mass incarceration, government injecting drugs into our communities, marriage prevention with financial assistance programs, business of children services m, medical experiments, and anti-black propaganda. Many Africans say we need to know our culture. I tell them Black Americans we are history and culture. Our ancestors were sold from the same culture you want us to learn about. We made America and all its wealth. Learn our plight.

In fact the Portuguese did not catch the slaves. The portuguese were too weak to conquer Africa untill 1850. So they established towns in the coast of Africa and from there they did business with local African kingdoms. The Portuguese only accepted to be paid with slaves so the local african kingdoms fought each other to catch slaves and sell them to Portuguese. Then the slaves were sent to Cape verde islands to be christianized and learn portuguese and then sent to the americas.

In the mid 15th century, the Portuguese were still raiding and kidnapping slaves. Look up the voyage of Lançarote de Freitas in 1444.

I am saddened by these young people because they know nothing about Black Americans. If it were older people making these comments I would understand why they would respond this way. We were dragged from Africa on ships, chained together for months, taken from our homes, families, our culture and language yet we survived and are still standing. I am so proud of us because we created most of the inventions in America that you benefit from in Rwanda too but we didn’t get the recognition or the benefit of these things. We suffered more than 200 years of slavery, had to learn to speak another language unknown to us, had to get used to a different family structure, had to get used to totally different types of food, religion, and the list could go on and on. I wonder how many of these people interviewed could handle the oppression, racism, and degradation that we have experienced for one day?? These people are so ignorant. There are ugly people of all races, but when you are ugly ugly on the inside you are a sad representation of humanity. Only two of the women who spoke made some sense but they even had some very ignorant expressions too. We are minorities because millions were killed before reaching America, while building America and due to many other horrors we suffered in America. I wonder how Rwandans would feel if we spoke ill of them in how they allowed the German and Belgian peoples to make them segregate themselves based on body characteristics such as complexion although they lived together in peace before these foreigners came to their country?? They even went to the extent of killing a million of their Rwandan brothers and sisters based on these ignorant concepts so stop talking about people you know nothing about besides what you see in the movies or hear on social media. Movies are someone else’s representation of people or an opinion and social media is a tiny fragment of our people and doesn’t define us all. Get your facts before you embarrass yourself with such nonsense and ignorance 😡🤔
